[ the veneer process ]

Seven steps from first visit to final review. Scroll to move through them.

From consult to review

  1. Consultation

Photos, scans and a full examination. We talk through what you would like to change and every option, including simpler ones.

  2. Health and stabilisation

Any decay, gum or bite problems are treated first. Whitening or aligners may come here if they mean less preparation later.

  3. Trial smile

A mock-up of the designed veneers is placed over your teeth so you can see and feel the shape before anything is permanent.

  4. Preparation

Under local anaesthetic, a small amount of enamel is shaped only where the design needs it, then your teeth are scanned for the lab.

  5. Temporaries

Temporary veneers protect your teeth and let you live with the new shape while the ceramics are made.

  6. About 2 to 3 weeks after preparation

    Final veneers

The ceramics are tried in and checked with you, then bonded and your bite is adjusted.

  7. Review

We check your gums, bite and polish, take after photos, and fit a night guard if you need one.

[ often suits ]

  • Colour that whitening can’t shift
  • Worn, chipped or uneven front teeth
  • Old veneers or crowns that need replacing
  • Shape and proportion changes across several teeth

[ worth knowing ]

Most veneers need some enamel preparation, which is permanent. Preparation is guided by a mock-up, so it’s limited to where the design needs it. Veneers eventually need replacing.

[ how it goes ]

Records and digital design, a trial smile, preparation and scan, then bonding of the laboratory-made ceramics. From preparation to your final veneers is usually about two to three weeks.
