Ceramic onlays and crowns

After an onlay or crown

Temporaries, the first few weeks, and long-term care.

With a temporary

Avoid sticky or very hard food on that side. Slide floss out sideways rather than lifting it up. If the temporary comes off, keep it and call the practice.

After bonding

Some sensitivity to cold for a few weeks is normal. If your bite feels high once the numbness wears off, call and we’ll adjust it.

Long term

Brush and floss as usual. The tooth underneath can still decay at the edges, so regular check-ups matter.
